Words by Phil
The written word includes writing: Speeches, letters, eulogies, wedding vows and in fact, anything that you want to say, but are not sure how to say it.
The spoken word is all about presentation, communication and liaison brought together in the role of Master of Ceremonies."To me, the role of an MC is to become the conduit between the client and venue, as well as all other services involved at the event, including entertainment. The client should never have to wonder who he or she should be speaking to in order to fix a problem, thats my job; simply tell me and I will work out how to get it fixed.
Any event, whether a wedding or a corporate function, is not all about the MC, yes, the MC needs to be entertaining, informative and a relaxed, warm communicator, but the MC also has to understand the delicate balance of running the show without stealing the show. The MC must always be the second fiddle to the main act, whether that be a Bride & Groom or a Corporate Client, they are the real stars of the show.
A good MC will ensure the smooth running of any event, a great MC will produce a flawless event that will be remembered for all of the right reasons, they may not remember exactly who the MC was, but they will always remember the job they did".
