There are many reasons why couples decide to renew their vows, each very personal and each very different. Some will mark a special, significant anniversary, with a renewal of vows, some to mark an important date for the couple and some, who simply wish for the wedding, that for any number of reasons, they couldn’t have on their wedding day. But I cannot think of a better reason to renew the marriage vows, than to celebrate the rediscovery of love and the reaffirming of the commitment that each partner has made to each other. Someone once said, the only thing you get from looking back is a sore neck, very true I suspect; however, the past should not define our future, or limit the hopes we have for new beginnings. If we cling on to the issues of the past, they can only impede our wishes for the future and that is not something that many of us are willing to do. It is the time for looking forward and embracing what is still to come and not what has gone before and hope, with all our hearts, that each and every one of our trusted and respected friends and family; can join them, and be happy for them as they continue their adventure together.
