I was so lucky following my Stroke, that through my time with the SES, I knew the signs of Stroke to look for.
The achronym F.A.S.T is all you need to kn ow!
F - Face, Ask the person to smile, is there any drooping on one side or the other of the face?
A - Arms, Ask the persaon to lift both arms in front of them, is there any weakness?
S - Speech, Has the person's speech become slurred at all, or are they having trouble putting words together, or remembering words?
T - Time, time is crucial in a Stroke.
So if the person is showing any of these signs, call an Ambulance straight away and tell the operator that you believe the person may be having a Stroke.
So please remember, acting FAST, can save your life.
