From performing on stage to performing Wedding Ceremonies, Phil Wall does it all!
Phil spent almost 20 years performing in Melbourne on TV, at various live venues and touring with overseas artists including Herman’s Hermits, Freddie & The Dreamers, Debbie Reynolds, Phyllis Diller and Jose Feliciano.
In 1999 Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club chose the song “We are the Storm” written by Phil and friend Jon Mol, as their theme song from over 650 songs submitted. More than 25 years later, the song is still proudly played after each victory and is well and truly etched as part of the clubs history.
In 2012, Phil had the opportunity to co host a morning radio show on community station, RPP FM called Friday on my mind. During the year on air, Phil and co host John Wells, interviewed many of the biggest names from Australian showbiz. The pair made history, when for the first time ever in Australia; they broadcast a full, live recreation of the historic, 1938 Orson Wells’s production of War of the Worlds in front of a live audience to celebrate Halloween.
In 2014, Phil decided to get back on stage and created his show, Sinatra & Friends which celebrates the music and stories of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr. Phil performs the show across Melbourne and is fast becoming an in demand performer for the huge Morning Melodies circuit.
Phil became an Authorised Marriage Celebrant in 2020, performing ceremonies for Weddings , Funerals, Naming Days, Memorial Services, Renewal of Vows and even Pet ceremonies.
Phil has lived in Bayside Chelsea for almost 50 years and has been a volunteer member of the Chelsea SES unit for more than 20 years.
In 2010, Phil was named Victorian Central Region, SES Volunteer of the Year and in 2019, he was awarded the National Medal by the Commonwealth Government of Australia for 15 years’ service to the community, also, he received his 15 year, long service medal from the Victoria State Emergency Service. He holds the position of Deputy Controller for Community Engagement.
Phil and his wife Maryann have been married for over 40 years and have a Daughter Kimba who has Down Syndrome and a son Dave, who runs his own carpentry business in the local area.
